Baghdad car bomb kills four (AFP)

BAGHDAD (AFP) - At least four people were killed and 24 wounded when a suicide car bomber blew himself up close to a US military convoy in central Baghdad, medics said.

"We have received four bodies and 24 other people who are wounded from the car bomb," said a doctor at Ibn Nafis hospital.

One US humvee was set ablaze and 14 other vehicles were damaged by the blast, which occurred at around 1:00 pm (0900 GMT) Tuesday in the central Bab Alsharq area of the capital, an AFP correspondent reported.

The correspondent saw a US soldier take a helmet and guns out of the burning humvee.
