The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. James D. Carroll, 23, of McKenzie, Tenn., died July 31 near Baghdad, Iraq, where an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV.
