Employees Overcome by Fumes at Mapleton Post Office

Wish-TV(Indianapolis) – The Mapleton post office was evacuated and several workers were treated for respiratory problems after someone dropped off a suspicious package Thursday.

It happened around 4:00 pm at the US post office branch on 34th and Graceland. Dozens of firefighters and HAZ-MAT crews were on the scene.

According to police, a postal worker accepted a package across the counter. A few minutes later, several employees began coughing. The employees brought the package outside and evacuated the building. Police say about 20 employees were inside the building at the time.

I hope everyone is okay.

Semper Fi my fellow Postal workers.
