WASHINGTON (AFP) - The US military has opened a criminal investigation into allegations that marines intentionally targeted civilians in a clash with insurgents in which 15 Iraqi civilians were killed, a military official said.

Originally, from Billings Montana now living in Muncie Indiana. Graduate of Billings West High in 1976. In the Marines Reserves from August 1975 to 1981. Co. B 4th Recon. Bn. 4th MarDiv. In May of 1987 I joined the Navy. I was onboard the USS Midway from June 1988 to 1991, with a tour of duty in the Persian Gulf during the first Gulf War. Got out of the Navy in 1995.
