GOP Senator Wants White House Climate Deal
By H. JOSEF HEBERT, Associated Press Writer
A leading Republican senator, trying to shepherd a broad energy bill through the Senate, is urging the White House and other GOP senators to support a compromise proposal on global warming, including mandatory curbs on climate-changing pollution.
Sen. Pete Domenici, R-N.M., met Friday with Vice President Dick Cheney to discuss the climate issue, which will be the focus next week when the Senate resumes work on the energy bill.
Cheney will just rewrite it, to be gas company friendly!
